We had a construction cleanup job in Springfield this week and I wanted to show you a before and after picture. The floor pictured is stamped concrete made to look like barnwood.
Wood Floor Deep Cleaning and Refinishing
Hardwood floors become dirty and dull over time. Once they become dull you have two options, the first is to sand or screen and refinish the floor, the second is to deep clean and refinish.
The first option is good if you have a deeply damaged floor. Sanding the floor takes the floor all the way down to bare wood, then a few coats of a finish is applied and you essentially have a new floor. Getting this almost new floor isn’t without its drawbacks though. First you can only sand the floor a few times, after that it must be replaced. Second the process of sanding is very dusty. Even the companies that offer dustless sanding will still put out dust, dustless just means less-dust. Third it is a very intrusive process, all the furniture will have to be taken out and it usually takes 3-5 days if a polyurethane finish is applied.
The second option is to deep clean the floor with the option to refinish. We use Basic Coatings Intensive Floor Cleaning Process. The system we use leaves the floor completely clean and dry without sanding. We also offer three different finishing options to suit your needs. All three finishes are water-based with a low VOC and can be walked on within 24 hours.
The floor below was treated with the entry level refinisher.
